2013 was a year of discovery and learning; it was my first year out of university, the year I received my first “proper” full time job. But most significantly to me, it was the year I began shooting fashion. I am an artist and I love any opportunity to create. Fashion photography has been the most beautiful, soul-satisfying thing I could have ever hoped for. I found inspiration from my own life and experiences, and re-told the stories through fashion. Organising and collaborating with a team of like-minded creatives and pushing my own limits has been scary but oh so exhilarating. I have loved every opportunity and every photo shoot.

Juggling a full time retail job with my photo shoots and post-production work has been challenging. For the first time I am beginning to understand what truly successful people have to do to get to where they want to be. I know my hard work will pay off.

With the turn of a new year, comes a sense of refreshment. As January begins, I sit down and reflect on the goals I set myself for last year (only a couple of non-specific goals), and write what I would like to achieve this year. It has come to the end of the first month, and already my year is shaping up to be an interesting one. I feel a great sense of inspiration and motivation to keep working hard this year and to chase my passions. I know in my heart that this is something I am suppose to do. I’ve never been a great talker. I like to tell stories, but not through word. There’s something magical about silence.
